Hispanic Community Health Study / Study of Latinos News
Center Information
HCHS/SOL Participants will be asked to visit our center. The visit will take about 7 hours and will include the following tests:

• Blood pressure test

• Diabetes test

• Electrocardiogram test
(to test the health of your heart)

• Hearing test

• Lung function test

• Dental examination

• Nutritional assessment

• Home sleep monitoring

• Physical activity monitoring

• During the visit participants
will also complete questionnaires
about their health
After the study visit, participants will get a 40 minute long follow up phone call within six weeks after the center visit. Also participants will be asked to wear a sleep and physical activity monitor in the convenience of their own home. Finally, the study personnel will contact the participants once a year to complete a 40 minute long health update interview.

All participant information will be kept confidential.

Participants will receive a summary of their test results.

HCHS/SOL San Diego Center

Participants may choose to schedule the one-day examination during the week or on some Saturdays of the month. The HCHS/SOL Center is located in Chula Vista next to the Scripps Mercy Hospital.
