The
Hispanic Community Health Study/Study of Latinos (SOL) is helping to build
knowledge about the health of our families and communities.
To do this, investigators need to collect data that will help them draw
conclusions about health in diverse groups of Hispanics/Latinos. For this reason,
households that are eligible to participate in the Study must be selected at
random from specific recruitment areas. Unfortunately, we cannot accept volunteer
participants.
If you receive a letter in the mail, your household may have the opportunity to
participate in SOL. One week after a household receives the SOL letter, recruiters
will make contact to further discuss this process. If no one is home, recruiters
will attempt to contact a household up to four times.
Following is a diagram showing the recruitment process.
