Hispanic Community Health Study / Study of Latinos News
The Chicago Field Center's (CFC) research involves participant recruitment, clinical examinations, and community relations. The purpose of this research is to collect data that investigators can use to better understand health issues affecting Hispanics/Latinos and to improve Latino's health and health care delivery.

The Chicago Field Center's Leadership:
Martha L. Daviglus, MD, PhD, Principal Investigator, is Professor of Preventive Medicine and Medicine (Geriatrics) at Northwestern University’s Department of Preventive Medicine at the Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Daviglus’s research activities concentrate on the epidemiology and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Martha L. Daviglus
Aida L. Giachello, PhD, Co-Principal Investigator, is Founder and Director of the Midwest Latino Health Research, Training, and Policy Center at University of Illinois at Chicago’s Jane Addams College of Social Work. Dr. Giachello specializes in community organizing, social policy, and Hispanic/Latino/minority health. Aida L. Giachello
Kiang Liu, PhD, Co-Principal Investigator, is Professor and Associate Chair for Research at Northwestern University's Department of Preventive Medicine at the Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Liu's research interests are in cardiovascular epidemiology and statistical methodology for epidemiologic research. Kiang Liu
Jorge Girotti, PhD, Interim Co-Principal Investigator, is Associate Dean and Director for Special Curricular Programs at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is also Director of Medical College Admissions and Director of the Hispanic Center of Excellence at UIC. Jorge Girotti
